Crossing Guard Help Needed!

posted Sep 1, 2011, 12:09 AM by Karrie Carey

The safety of our students is our top priority, and as you've probably seen over the past week, the traffic situation before and after school can get a little chaotic. In order to ensure the safety of our students, it's vital that we have parent volunteers to help monitor the crosswalk by the big parking lot. This entails stopping cars that are leaving the parking lot so students may cross, and making sure students don't cross the driveway unprotected. This volunteer role is in addition to our City-provided Crossing Guard who monitors pedestrians crossing Hill Rd from the overpass.

We would like to have 10 parents, so that each person only has to do one shift per week. This is a great job for parents of older students who are comfortable getting themselves to or from class on the day of your shift, but all parents are welcome to participate. Training is provided. You can access the sign-up to see what is available at www.SignUpGenius.com/go/crossing1

Please sign up for the shift(s) of your choice. If you need to be absent or your schedule changes, we understand, but please choose the shift you feel you could work most often. If you have any questions, please contact Principal Tyner.
