Do you live on the opposite side of the freeway from Mound? Save some time, avoid the traffic, and “hop on” the Walking School Bus, organized by some very ambitious Mound 4th graders out to save the planet!

Drop your kids off at Johnson Dr. and Thille Rd between 7:30-7:40am, where they will be supervised by other parent “drivers” and then walked to school via the greenbelt path and pedestrian bridge, leaving the “bus stop” at 7:40am. The walk takes less than 15 minutes and the students will arrive at school in time to get to class and feeling energized and ready to start their day!

Parents can also continue to drop off their students directly across the bridge – in fact, if you “miss the bus” by the time it leaves at 7:40am, meet it at Hill Rd. and Webster by 7:50 and your student can ‘hop on’ as the “bus” rolls by!

This is a parent-friendly “bus”! Grab your walking shoes and “hop on!”  If you would like to help out by being an occasional “driver”, please contact Mr. Tyner or Sandra Nolan at (805) 216-7628 or sandranolanp@yahoo.com.
